1990), showing that 5-HT2C binding and mRNA distributions were largely overlapping (Pompeiano et al. 1994) and selective 5-HT2C agonists and antagonists were synthesized, some of which are in clinical development (see reference Millan et al. 2003), although none of them has been demonstrated to bind to pizza (Guth 1982)! The progress in the field has been compelling, due to major advances in molecular biology, the availability of selective tools, and their judicious, occasionally "out of the box" thinking.
