REMARKS - The spectrum shows the absence of marked monomer and oligmer peaks due to a dominance of thermal degradation rather than depolymerisation reactions. Note the presence of homologous ion series representing increasingly unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbons and even some degree of aromatisation (m/z 78!). Dotted lines connect alkane fragment ion series at m/z 43, 57, 71, 85, etc.. Heteroatom-containing ions at m/z 18 (H^O*'), 32 (CH30H+"), 60 (C2H4O24") and 64 (S02+') must represent sample contaminants.
