REMARKS - As is to be expected, this spectrum resembles that of hyaluronic acid (Spectrum A.16). Peaks at m/z 96, 112 and 114 indicate the GlcA residues; the peaks at m/z 59 (acetamide) and 125 are indicative of the GalNAc residues. The signal at m/z 64 (S02+°) apparently represents the sulphate moieties, the relatively low intensity might be connected with the fact that the compound is analysed in the salt form. The presence of ion signals at m/z 34, 48, 76, 92, 94, 108 and 117 probably indicates proteinaceous contaminants. Compare also with Spectrum A.18, showing the 4-sulphated analogue.
